Question of the Week

I do not get how lesbians can have sex. Does one partner play the man?

Lesbian, gay, and heterosexual couples all have sex the same waythey find things to do that give each other pleasure and increase their feelings of intimacy.

Sex is not just about putting a penis into a vagina. People choose to be sexual in lots of different ways. These ways might include oral sex, mutual masturbation, rubbing bodies together, or using sex toys.

It's a myth that lesbian or gay couples role play heterosexual sex. In fact, sexual intercourse is only one of the many, many sexual activities that a straight couple might engage in.

So, people, regardless of their sexual orientation, have many options for how to relate to each other sexually. These are based on their own needs, values, imaginations, preferences, and communication abilities.
