Question of the Week

If I skip periods all the time and have an irregular cycle, will it be hard for me to get pregnant when I want to?

This is difficult to answer, because there are many reasons why a girl or woman has irregular cycles at certain times in her life. There are also many women who always have irregular cycles.

This irregularity can make it harder to predict when a woman is most fertile. But there are ways a woman can learn to track her ovulation and become more aware of her most fertile times.

First, a woman with irregular cycles needs to know what, if anything unusual, is causing her irregular cycles. And, if necessary, she needs to be treated. Then, when she wishes to become pregnant, she needs to discuss this with a health care provider to find out what additional help she may need.

There are treatments that can regulate a womans cycle when she wishes to become pregnant. So, while it may take a bit longer to get pregnant, it shouldn't be hard.
