Some people and some religions teach children that it is wrong to masturbate. In some families, children are told it�s �dirty� to touch themselves �down there� and that, if they do, bad things will happen to them. But, there is no medical or scientific evidence to back this up.
There are no known risks to masturbating, emotional or physical. But, if you�ve been taught that masturbation is bad, you might feel guilty if you do it. Some would consider this an emotional or mental health risk. It really is a personal choice.
