Alcohol and Drugs
Does sex feel different when youre drinking or taking drugs?
Its hard to say. Everyone is different. And so is their response to drugs. People also respond differently to sex and have different sexual desires.
We do know that lots of drugs cause physical sexual problems. That can include impotence (when a guy cant get an erection), vaginal dryness and painful erections that last hours.
Mostly, alcohol and drugs cause you to lose your inhibitions the feelings that make you stop and think before doing something. So, it might seem like sex is better when youre drinking or taking drugs because you feel more relaxed.
But, that also makes you much more likely to do something youll regret and that could have bad consequences, including pregnancy and disease. Even if you dont end having a pregnancy or sexually-transmitted infection to worry about, you might just feel awful about the things you did while drunk or on drugs. And that affects the way you feel about yourself.
