That depends on where the harassment is happening and what kind of harassment it is.  Most schools and work places now have policies against sexual harassment.

The first thing you should do if you are being harassed is tell the harasser to STOP immediately. If that doesn�t work, then take the following steps:

1. Tell an adult. It can be a parent, teacher, coach, family friend, or someone else you trust. An adult can help you get to other adults who can make the harassment stop.
2. Keep records. Get a notebook and write down exactly what the person did.  Include the date, time, and place. Be sure to write down how you responded. This way, you can show how long the harassment has been happening and how you�ve tried to make it stop yourself.
3. Write the harasser a letter � and be sure to keep a copy for yourself.  Be very clear about the behavior you want this person to stop doing. For example, �Stop calling me. Stop following me. Stop coming to my classes.� Include exactly what you plan to do if the harassing behavior continues, which should include reporting the person to the principal or the police.
4. Find out what your school�s sexual harassment policy is. Your school principal should have the policy in writing and you are entitled to see it. This can be helpful when you write the letter to your harasser. You can say that the person�s behavior violates the school�s sexual harassment policy.

Whatever you do, know that you have the right to report abuse. You have the right to go to school and live in a neighborhood where you feel comfortable and safe. And no one has the right to make you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
