Teen Parenting
Why is it so much harder for teens to become parents?
Taking on the huge responsibility of caring for another person is a big, scary job, no matter how old you are. But, its easier for adult couples. They tend to be more settled and stable and be in committed relationships. Theyve usually finished school, have decent jobs and other family supports. These things help a lot when it comes to raising kids.
Teens, on the other hand, are still growing up themselves. So, they have to raise a child, while also finishing school and figuring out where theyre headed in life. Teenage couples are usually less stable, because theyre still deciding who they are and what kind of person they want to marry. This all makes teen parenting a difficult but not impossible job.
